Membership Options

There are several ways to be involved at the YMCA! Enjoy all the benefits of a full membership, sign up for the Adult Wellness Centers for extra amenities, or enroll in a class as a non-member.

YMCA Membership

By enrolling as a full-time member, you have the option of paying either an annual fee in one lump sum (payable by check, cash or credit card) or paying a set amount each month with a draft from your bank account or credit card (no cash or check payments for monthly membership plans). If you choose to pay an annual fee, your membership is valid for one year, and your membership is nonrefundable and non-transferable. If you choose the monthly draft option, you have the advantage of never having to renew your membership! Your draft will continue until you provide us with a written 30-day advance notice of your desire to cancel.

As a YMCA member, you have full access to YMCA facilities, and may use the YMCA Wellness Center for an additional daily fee. Members may purchase massages from the Wellness Center in single or multiple session increments. We offer several classes every session that are free to members, as well as premium classes and programs that require payment of an additional fee. Members save up to 50% on the cost of classes!

Wellness Center Membership

Enroll as a Wellness Center Member, which is our top-of-the-line membership. This membership is paid the same as a regular membership. Wellness Center Memberships include everything a regular membership does, and also includes the use of our Men’s or Women’s Wellness Center.

The Wellness Center offers enhanced locker rooms, a relaxing lounge with complimentary tea and coffee, a private workout area with cardio equipment and weights, a whirlpool and sauna, enhanced shower facilities and savings on massages. You must be over 18 to enroll as a Wellness Center Member, as children under 18 are not allowed in the Wellness Center.

Take a Class

Enroll in classes at the YMCA without a membership. At this level, you are responsible for paying the Non-Member fees for a class, but no membership dues. With paid class registration, you have access on class days to the class location and the locker room, but are not allowed to use members-only facilities. Non-Members may purchase massages in single session increments.

Visiting Other YMCAs

This is commonly known as the AWAY Program (Always Welcome At YMCAs), and allows members access to thousands of YMCAs through the U.S. at little or no cost to you (charges are rarely more than $1.00-$2.00). Your West Cook YMCA in Oak Park membership card is honored at over 50 YMCAs in the greater Chicagoland area, and over 2,400 YMCAs in the U.S. (however, be sure to check with the individual facility for any restrictions). In addition, members who have a Wellness Center membership from other YMCAs may use the West Cook YMCA in Oak Park Wellness Centers free of charge. Members from other YMCAs MUST have their membership card to use the West Cook YMCA in Oak Park.
