Free Fitness Classes for Members
The following classes are free to the West Cook YMCA members only. However, they require registration. If class attendance does not average 10-12 participants, some classes may be cancelled for the current session. Ages 12-15 may register in adult programs. Parent or guardian must also be present in class. Current Student ID is required.
Beginner Step Aerobics HF117 - Learn the basics of step aerobics while improving your cardiovascular fitness and strengthening your entire body. This is a great class for beginner exercisers!
Cardio Combo HF111 - Uses a variety of equipment like steps, ,balls, weights, bands and discs to jump-start your day!
Cross Training HF401 - A fun and challenging strength-filled cardio class with lots of variety that emphasizes burning excess fat. You'll be lean and mean in no time!
Family Fun and Fitness HF900 - Check it Out! The Family Fun and Fitness Class includes a variety of cardiovascular and strengthening activities for the entire family! Participants will utilize the Spirit, Mind and Body Room, climbing wall, track, Y-Box and much more. Weekly tips on healthy eating and activity are included. Register as a family or children ages 5-12 may enroll individually.
Fit Over Fifty HF602 - An exercise program especially for active older adults. Flexibility and light aerobics are emphasized.
Group Cycling - NOW FREE TO WEST COOK YMCA MEMBERS! - Ride your way to strong muscles and a strong heart in a specially designed room with extra A/C! This class will take your body places it's never cycled before. All instructors are certified group cycle trainers who can lead beginning to advanced fitness levels. Check out the NEW Beginning Cycling Class, HF203 and HF226; perfect for first-time riders! Register for up to a maximum of three classes per week. You must be enrolled for each class as space is limited. Water bottles are required and cycling shoes and shorts are highly recommended.
On the Ball HF402 - Enjoy a fun and challenging workout on the stabiliy ball. Focus is on improving balance and strength while learning fun new exercises. A total body workout!
Let's Get Moving HF405 &407 - Improve your overall fitness: Spirit, Mind and Body. This workout concentrates on cardio, strength, flexibility and body composition. Core training and yoga stretches will relax and rejuvenate you.

Kids On the Ball HF416 - Kids will love this fun and challenging fitness class that incorporates the use of all types of balls. Focus is on improving balance, coordination, and strength all while learning fun new exercises and games.
Moving It to Lose It HF109 - Burn more calories in this high-energy aerobic training class. Enjoy 45 minutes of pure activity, finishing with core training and flexibility work.
Shape Me Up! HF120 - Challenge yourself to 60 minutes of interval training to jump-start your morning!
Step It Up! HF113-115 - Improve your cardiovascular fitness, strengthen the upper and lower body and end with an ab workout which combines yoga and Pilates. This is more than just your traditional step class!
Stretch and Abs HF501 - Enjoy 30 minutes of concentrated abdominal workout, followed by a deep stretch.
Ultimate Sculpt HF408 & 409 - Focus on strengthening and toning muscles and decreasing body fat.
